Fashion, trends, and current news are the issues dealt with by the magazine, which comes out in the first fortnight of the month. Velvet, a monthly supplement of the Repubblica, is an Italian magazine, which began publishing in Milan, led by Michela Gattermayer. For the first year, Velvet was characterized by the adoption of large-format, high-impact graphics and careful attention to typography. The first edition of Velvet was 580 pages and was released on 9 November 2006. I had the opportunity to work on issues #22 and #23, designing layouts, playing with typography, and adapting images from major Italian photographers. Velvet is an extremely innovative magazine, where I could experiment with my creativity, but always within the underlying identity and layout structures.
